Family Welfare

The Army extends a comprehensive welfare package to the families of the service personnel. In this regard, the Army has continuously committed elaborate funding and sponsorship towards enhancing facilities in the general education sector. This sponsorship covers pre-School institutions and eleven fully fledged public primary schools, located within the Army establishment. Kahawa Garrison Secondary School is under the Army sponsorship. Additional welfare services in the Army units focus on the provision of well-established VCT centres. Scouts and other extra curriculum activities are also encouraged for children living in the Military Camps.

RELIGION

Spiritual nourishment for the personnel of the Kenya Army is provided for by the Chaplaincy services. The Chaplaincy service has qualified Priest and Imams who are serving Officers of the Kenya Army seconded by their relevant religious organizations.

In addition to the normal prayer services offered by chaplaincy services to Christian personnel and their families on Sunday and Muslim personnel and their families on Fridays, Padre hours are also provided for.

The contribution of the Chaplaincy services in moulding responsible and disciplined officers, men and women of the Kenya Army need not be over emphasized.

KENYA ARMY SCHOOLS

The Kenya Army units have a primary school almost in every unit. Kahawa Garrison has a Primary and Secondary school. Both Schools started as self help projects for service personnels but are now classified as public schools and admission is open to both military and members of the public.

Moi Barracks Primary School is located in Kamagut constituency in Eldoret North . The school is part of the Uasin Gishu district in the Rift Valley province of Kenya

Moi Barracks Primary School is a Mixed Day Only school. The school is sponsored by The Central Government. The School Institution Type is classified as – Ordinary . This Primary School in Kenya has an enrollment of 543 with a student teacher ratio of 31.9 and this means there is 33.9 pupils per classroom in 16 classrooms. There are a total of 17 Government of Kenya Teachers at this school.

Kahawa Garrison Primary  School is located in the Kasarani costituency in Kahawa . The school is part of the Kasarani district in the Nairobi province of Kenya.It is one of the school located in a Military Camp in Kahawa Garrison

Langata Barracks Primary School is a Mixed Day Only school. The school is sponsored by The Local Government Authority. The School Institution Type is classified as – Ordinary . This Primary School in Kenya has an enrollment of 511 with a student teacher ratio of 26.9 and this means there is 21.3 pupils per classroom in 24 classrooms. There are a total of 19 Government of Kenya Teachers at this school

 

 

 

 

KENYA AIR FORCE PRIMARY SCHOOLS FLYING HIGH

The Kenya Air Force has two primary schools – MAB and LAB primary schools. Both schools started as self help projects for the convenience of service personnel whose children who were forced to travel long distances every morning to distant schools. Today the schools are classified as public schools and admission is open to both military and members of the public. The stewardship of the two schools is provided by the military where the Base Commanders are the patrons respectively. The uniqueness of the two schools is that strict values of self-discipline and self-determination are inculcated at an early age in the pupils

LAIKIPIA AIR BASE PRIMARY SCHOOL

The school was started in 1984 and it is located inside Laikipia Air Base. The first KCPE exams were done in 1987. Today, the population of the school is 606 pupils and 20 teachers. The motto of the school is “The sky is the limit”.

MOI AIR BASE PRIMARY SCHOOL

The school was started in 1989 and it is located inside Moi Air Base. The first KCPE exams were done in 1996. Today, the population of the school is 1273 pupils and 36 teachers. The motto of the school is “Effort, endless in the sky”. More than 50% of the pupils come from the Mathare, Eastleigh and Huruma neighborhoods.
