On 1st September 2019, the Kenya Navy Band led by Major Henry Ochieng graced a thanksgiving procession held by the officials from the Agricultural Society of Kenya (ASK) in Mombasa town in preparation of the Mombasa International Trade Fair (MITF). In support of the ASK the Band marched and played music from the Marikiti Market to the Cathedral Memorial Anglican Church Kenya where a thanksgiving ceremony was held.
The Band entertained Mombasa residents with refined rhythmical tunes and well-coordinated dancing skills. Its prowess in playing the musical instruments attracted a large number of Mombasa residents some of them following the procession from the market to the church.
The Thanksgiving ceremony is held annually, as a forum for the ASK to collect food products and other donations from volunteers and cooperate institutions to be distributed to the less privileged in the society within the Mombasa County. The MITF is set to run from 4th to 8th September 2019.
